PMopenlab makes its contribution to the # COVID19 emergency with the open source project #OpenMedicalVisor

PMopenlab has started production with 3D printing of medical visors following the open source project #OpenMedicalVisor (based on the model of Gizéh Triana) whose prototyping was perfected in collaboration with the medical staff of the Infectious Diseases Department of the GOM of Reggio Calabria, who requested it due to lack of availability also due to the prolonged emergency.

The printing and realization time for a single complete viewer is approx 2 ore. In a few days, at the end of March, the first were delivered 12 viewers of 30 foreseen.

The headset consists of two digitally modeled and 3D printed components (mask and strap) and the visor made from a transparent PVC sheet from 300 microns. The complete viewer kit also includes 2 straps e 2 sheets as repair parts.

PMopenlab is an active part of the open source solidarity network and has made the project available to the community with instructions for full reproduction and to collaborate with other makers for improvement..

PMopenlab is receiving requests from all over Italy from numerous interested operators and hospitals. E’ possible to support the “OPEN MEDICAL VISOR” of solidarity digital manufacturing with donations to cover only the cost of materials
