Opportunity for companies associated with Green Home to join MWood, European project on wood.

Green Home is the promoter of “MWood – Mediterranean Wood for Modular Constructions”, a European research and development project based on exchanges of researchers, technicians and managers between companies and universities/research centers and centered on technologies and applications for the valorization of wood in the Mediterranean basin, along the entire production and transformation chain, for structural and non-structural purposes.

Last year, the MWood project proposal had been positively evaluated but not financed due to lack of funds within the program H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions for the Call “RISE – Research and Innovation Staff Exchange” of the 2019.

On the occasion of the expiry of the RISE Call for 2020, fixed to 28 April, the partnership is working on a revision of the proposal.

In this context, we invite companies associated with Green HoMe and interested in the project to apply to participate as “linked parties” (connected partners) to the project to participate in personnel exchanges, carrying out activities for pre-established periods with European partners and hosting European researchers in the company.

Below we report more information about the project, partners and planned activities.

The proposal involves an intense exchange of three personnel goals:

  • development of protocols and techniques for the use of various types of Mediterranean wood for structural and non-structural purposes;
  • development of construction techniques for the construction of modular and relocatable wooden structures;
  • experimentation of composite panels for non-structural use with the use of natural fibers

I costs of mobility are covered al 100% from the program plus a bonus for research and laboratory costs.

Currently, il partnership involves 11 operators (SMEs and Universities) in 6 villages (Italia, Greece, Spain,Slovenia, Swiss, Türkiye): as well as the University of Calabria (coordinator Prof. Raffaele Zinno) and at Polo Green HoMe, participate in the proposal: University of Granada, CESEFOR e STOP (Spain), University of Thessaly, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), InnoRenew CoE and CBD (Slovenia), Institute of Construction and Environmental Technologies iTEC (Swiss), KEAS – Kastamonu Entegre Agac Sanayi (Türkiye).
