Production chain 3 – Recovery of construction waste from demolition and renovation

Why valorise building waste?

Disciplinary the use of construction waste it is a need now widely shared on an international scale, also given the stringent regulations that require renewed management.

In a context in which building activity proliferates such as the Calabrian one, the need to rationalize the production of waste treatment from construction activities, is a priority.

The recovery of waste from demolition and renovation, brings undoubted advantages:

Qualitative Advantages
  • Safeguard of the territory;
  • Environmental protection;
  • Safeguarding of human health.
Quantitative Advantages
  • Lower disposal costs at lower recycling plants;
  • Lower procurement costs for recovered / recycled materials
Goals of the Green HoMe Polo

The Polo intends to promote an alternative form of recovery and recycling of demolition waste through the beach nourishment, widespread in recent years.

In light of the current situation of the Italian coasts, indeed, this use is to be considered a priority over other recovery possibilities, as the sediments in question can constitute a primary resource in the context of the coastal sedimentary balance.
